Founded on a 1903 homestead east of Roseberry, Eld Ranch has been stewarded by the same family for generations.

Finnish immigrants, including members of the Eld family, settled in Long Valley in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Drawn by opportunity, agriculture, and the region’s familiar climate, they helped shape the valley through generations of hard work, ranching, and community building.

What began with Finnish settlers building a small farmhouse, barn, and sauna grew into a working cattle and hay operation shaped by hard work, resilience, and generations committed to building something lasting.

Joe and Vicki Eld raised their daughter Michelle on the property and continued operating the family ranch near Roseberry Road. Joe dedicated his life to ranching and the Long Valley community, carrying forward generations of Finnish heritage through hard work, resilience, and sacrifice. Ranch life brought both pride and hardship, but Joe and Vicki remained committed to creating opportunities for Michelle while preserving the family’s connection to the land and community they loved.

Today, Eld Ranch Estates carries that legacy forward with a vision rooted in stewardship, connection, and respect for the land. Thoughtfully designed to preserve the natural beauty and character of Long Valley, the community will feature planned walking paths, recreation spaces, and boat dock access that encourage residents to experience the landscape rather than reshape it. By blending responsible development with the spirit of the original ranch, Eld Ranch Estates aims to honor generations of family history while creating a place future generations can continue to enjoy for years to come.
